Waverly Police Department and Waverly City Schools Resource Officer Eric Ballein recently completed the DARE Instructor program after two weeks of intense training. During the training Officer Ballein was chosen by fellow officers as class speaker and representative for the Ohio 77th DARE K-12 Officer Program in Columbus, Ohio. Officer Ballein would like to thank his wife for her support in this training and stated that he is proud to serve as a full-time DARE Officer with the Waverly Police Department, serving the youth at Waverly City Schools.

Adena Mobile Health Clinic will be providing sports physicals on July 26 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Pike County YMCA. The cost for physicals is $40, but if it is included in a wellness visit, may be covered under insurance.

The month of March is DD Awareness month. On Thursday, March 7th, Loufern Bowen read a book to Mrs. Trimble's first grade class. She read a book called Included. The aim of this story is to ensure all kids understand that kids with a disability are just like kids everywhere. Fern was at the school with the Pike County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
