During a scheduled staff in-service day on March 11, Waverly City Schools staff participated in professional development training including Same Goal for special education, Orton Gillingham for phonics, and Written Education Plans for gifted students. In addition, administrators and staff discussed revisions to K-12 math curriculum. Assistant Superintendent Melissa Marquez stated, "In-service days help to better our staff as a whole and improve the quality of education provided at our schools."
