Waverly City Schools welcomed Dan Leffingwell and Alison Bragg for a guest presentation at the January 29 in-service. A career educator, Dan serves as Director of Appalachian STEM Collaborative. He provided a challenging and uplifting message on serving student needs in career readiness for the changing workforce. Alison is the Southwest Ohio Regional GRIT Project Director, a community outreach partner for Pike County. She spoke to staff about future plans through the project and support for students beyond graduation. Waverly City Schools participates in the GRIT Project currently as all students take a future plans assessment in ninth grade. Then in the tenth grade year students participate in a coaching interview supporting their future plans. The district partnership with the GRIT Project exists to support students in determining their path upon graduation.
