Waverly City Schools staff and student Remi Barker recently donated to the Aladdin Shriners organization to support Spina Bifida.  The Waverly City School staff held a Jeans for a Cause day which generated $405  in support of the Spina Bifida Foundation.  Waverly First Grade student Remi Barker sold t-shirts in support of the Spina Bifida cause raising $345.  Spina Bifida is a birth defect in which there is incomplete closing of the spine and membranes around the spinal cord during early development.   Included in the donation recognition photo are:  WCS Superintendent Bill Hoover, Shriner Ron Bixler, WCS Treasurer Becki Peden, Shriner John Stubbs, WCS First Grade student Remi Barker, Shriner Gene Newland, WCS Fiscal Intern Riley Williams, and WCS Primary Principal Sarah Ward.
