Meet the New Boys Basketball Coach, Kyle Bradley
Tiger basketball has a new leader on the sidelines, and Coach Kyle Bradley is excited to get started on the season.
“This summer was a great opportunity for the new coaching staff to build and develop relationships with this year’s group as we moved into the fall and pre-season,” said Bradley. “The team has done a great job of buying into our expectations and has worked tremendously hard day in and day out. We are looking forward to the season and putting a team on the floor that the community will be proud of!”
While new to Waverly, Bradley is no stranger to southern Ohio basketball. His past two head coaching jobs have been at Adena and Huntington.
“Basketball has been a part of my life in one form or another for the last 30 years,” said the Marion, Ohio native.
Before his seven-year tenure in the SVC, Bradley’s first coaching job was under Jeff Winslow at Upper Sandusky High School.
“Coach Winslow was instrumental in developing my love for coaching,” said Bradley.
There will also be a few new faces joining Bradley in December, including Cade Marquez as the junior varsity coach, Greg Storts assisting on varsity, volunteer assistant Jack Trainer, and Colton Salyers returns to the freshman sidelines.
Bradley, who teaches junior high physical education and high school advanced physical education, is the father of two children, 8-year-old Paislee and 6-year-old Grayson. His wife Hannah is also a teacher at Waverly City Schools.
“When I’m not coaching I enjoy watching my kids fall in love with the sports they are playing,” added Bradley.
Bradley says he is grateful for the opportunity to join the tradition at Waverly.
“My family and I are excited to move into the community and enjoy the many opportunities Waverly City Schools has to offer,” said Bradley. “We look forward to building relationships and building a basketball program the community is proud of, much like Coach Robertson did during his 15 seasons. Waverly basketball has a great tradition and is well-respected in the Southeast district. My staff and I are looking forward to the opportunity we have been given.”
