FBP Donates $2,500 for Waverly Reading Program
Waverly Primary students have a new advantage in the classroom this year with the help of a $2,500 donation from Fluor-BWXT (FBP). The Just Right Reader Classroom Library is a valuable resource to help young students practice their reading proficiency.
“Reading is the foundation of a great education, and FBP is proud to partner with Waverly City Schools to launch this new program that is engaging students in developing solid reading habits,” said FBP President and CEO Greg Wilkett.
The teachers are pleased with how the program is helping students grow their reading abilities.
“This series helps students develop strong reading abilities by understanding the letters, their sounds and how they blend together to create words,” said Primary Intervention and Reading Specialist Sarah Roberts. “The content and pictures in the new books are very engaging and the students really enjoy reading them.”
Waverly Primary Principal Sarah Ward says community support, like this partnership with Fluor-BWXT, is extremely beneficial for the district and students.
“Community support fosters a collaborative environment where everyone plays a role in shaping the future of our students,” said Ward. “With strong community backing we can enhance educational resources, activities, and provide additional opportunities to empower our kids to thrive academically and personally.”
