Advanced Placement (AP) Exams are offered by the College Board and are taken each May by students. The tests are the completion of year long courses offered at the high school level. They are standardized exams designed to measure how well a student mastered the content and skills of a specific AP course.
The College Board scores AP Exams between 1 and 5, with 5 being the highest possible mark. Earning a 5 on an AP exam indicates that a student studied hard and has a firm understanding of the subject matter. While requirements vary from one college to the next, earning a 5 on an AP Exam may allow a student to skip equivalent college classes.
Waverly High School had two students who received a 5 on their AP Exams in May:
Emma Scholbeloch received a "5" on her English Literature and Composition AP Exam. Emma also earned the sophistication point for her prose essay. Fewer than 1% of students earned that point, globally.
Hannah Remi received a "5" on her AP Art and Design 2-D Exam
