Meet Waverly’s New Athletic Trainer- Alison Hall
Waverly’s new athletic trainer has worked from West Virginia to Wyoming, but Alison Hall says she is glad to finally be doing what she loves closer to home.
The Jackson native is a graduate of Oak Hill and earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Athletic Training from Wilmington College.
“From an early age I knew I wanted to do something in the medical field and when I heard about athletic training in seventh grade I knew that is what I wanted to do,’ said Alison. “It’s not very often you get to combine two things you love doing, helping people and sports, into your daily job and that is what I get to do as an athletic trainer.”
After Wilmington, Alison went on to pursue her Master’s Degree with a concentration in Education at Concord University in West Virginia. When she graduated, she stayed at Concord working with a variety of sports, but mostly the with football team.
Her experience at Concord soon led to a new opportunity out west where she worked as the head athletic trainer at Casper College in Casper, Wyoming for four years before moving back to east to West Virginia University Institute of Technology. Now, two years later she is ready to use her experience in the college world of sports to help Waverly athletes stay healthy and aid in their recovery.
Alison says she is looking forward to working with high school athletes and being a part of the program at Waverly.
“Everyone has been very welcoming and Waverly has a strong community, family vibe,” said Alison. “Everyone from coaches, staff, athletes and parents seem to enjoy their role and it has me excited for what is to come ahead.”
